Winnipeg; Manitoba Free Press, 1890. 7 p., ports. 21cm. in green wrappers. Text in double columns. Peel’s Bibliography of the Canadian Prairies, Revised edition, notes that both Henry Pary Liddon and John Henry Newman died in the same year as this lecture and its publication; #1892.] Some light and uniform toning along the edges, Else Fine.

Of these three, the most notable was the convert from the Anglican priesthood, John Henry Newman, later Saint John Newman subsequent to the attribution to him of miracle healings and his Beatification in 2019 by Pope Francis. Thus, the booklet is of significance not only in the history of Manitoba College and its connection with theological studies, but an early recognition of the efficacy of his service to Roman Catholicism. Scarce.
