Foreword by Sir Anthony Caro, British sculptor; essay, 'Abstraction, Metaphor and the Poetic Landscape' by Sky Glabush, Associate Professor of Art at the University of Western Ontario. Rogers' abstract art is informed by his prairie roots, and his long-standing connection with and service to the Baha'i Faith. Apart from private collections, his work can be found in the National Gallery of Canada, the Nickel Art Museum in Calgary, and thinter alia. While exhibition catalogues are still to be found, though in demand, this is the "first major monograph' of his work. Both this trade edition, limited to 1200 copies, and the signed trade edition are uncommon, especially in such condition as this copy, leaving a Limited edition, in clamshell box with a signed monotype print at $800, and a Deluxe Edition of only 20 copies, including an original artwork, at $1750 still available from the publisher. Rogers passed away in April, 2019.
"The book was set in Requiem and Univers, and the paper is Lumisilk, 170 gms weight, and Mohawk Super Fine, 148 gms weight." There is a very light small area of discoloration near the hinge on the front boards, and a very slight bowing of the front cover, Else Fine. No previous owner names or other markings. Shipping may be extra due to size and weight. Insurance recommended.
